Ruler Work Quilting Basics
Use your home sewing machine to create quilting patterns that have the same look as long arm quilting. This basics class is for quilters who have never taken a ruler work class before. You will create different blocks using the basic ruler set. The other classes are for those who have taken the basics course and are interested in using other Westalee templates like the clamshell and spiral templates. Sew Steady table, ruler foot and templates required- call or come by the shop at least 2 weeks before class to purchase your supplies for this class!
Class Supply List
Ruler foot
Sew steady table
50 wt thread, one or two shades darker than your top
bobbin with same thread
Sewing machine capable of doing free motion quilting
12" arc template
Quilt Sandwich- this can be muslin on front and back with the following squares or rectangles drawn and sewn on the quilt sandwich leaving 1/4" between the blocks. Sew on the lines of the blocks.
Block sizes needed:
(2) 6x6 squares
(2) 1.5 x 24" rectangles
(2) 5 x 12.5" rectangles
(2) 8 x 4" rectangles
(2) 8 x 8 squares
(1) 1 x 26" rectangle
If you need a ruler foot or template, they need to be ordered 2 weeks before class
If you cut the shapes apart have at least an extra inch around all shapes
